Cakes on the Catwalk

Hilton Colombo always thrives in giving the best to their guests. Pastry Wiz, Executive Chef Gerard Mendis is no doubt one of the best Pastry Chefs in the world. With his wealth of experience, he has introduced a range of “Designer” Cakes at Fine Things Pastry Shop and also at the Thorana Lounge “The Blend” high tea.. These cakes are unique, presentation is “world class” and the taste… we will leave that to you to decide. To introduce the new range of cakes, Thorana Lounge had a Fashion Show, with potential models for HSBC Colombo Fashion Week, presenting these exquisite cakes.

Some cakes to keep in mind are Purple Velvet which is butter ribbon cake, chocolate brownie, crispy almond biscuit wrapped in marzipan coated in white chocolate, or Butterfly – Blueberry Mousse with burnt custard on a chocolate chip mousse cake. Honey Comb is also a rich chocolate fondue on a baked New York cheese cake.
